2nd Grade Busy Work Day!

Today 2nd grade was busy finishing up one project their "Fall Birch Trees" by adding adding animals and insects other students were adding details to their "Reflective City" project. What a wonderful class and great clean up! Good work Mrs. Rodriguez's class!!

8th Grade Dada Inspired art

8th Grade has been studying the Dada movement and the growth of Surrealism.  Students have been watching Dada films and analyzing them and using their skills from social studies to examine the symbolism.  Students then focused on Duchamp’s art and the movement within his paintings.  Students used tints of a color to create movement and elements of collage to finalize their pieces.   

2nd Grade Fall Birch Trees

2nd grade has been working hard creating a mixed media project showing Fall Birch trees.

3rd Grade Boothill project

3rd grade has worked hard over the past three weeks creating cowboy boots. Students started with a watercolor wash background to look like a sunset. They then learned about drawing silhouettes.  We talked about and looked at plants from the desert where we live.  The last step was designing a cowboy or cowgirl boot.  Students focused on painting with control and using the watercolors properly.   Great work 3^rd grade!

7th Grade Handmade Books

7th Grade has been working hard creating a handmade book using a variety of techniques.  Some students even made their own paper! Students picked a theme and created a book that reflected that theme.

3rd Grade Fish Tanks

3^rd Grade students designed their own fish tanks. After using a ruler and measuring the lines, students created a 3-D drawing of their tank.  Students then explored various books and practiced drawing fish. Students filled their tanks with “water” using watercolor paint and then added gravel to the floor of their tanks. Students used Q-Tips and tempera paint.  What wonderful fish tanks! And awesome creativity.
