Through the Keyhole - 8th Grade

8th graders have been examining themselves and what makes them unique. In the project “Through the Keyhole" students started by creating a web about themselves. They had to include 6 descriptive words and then symbols or items to represent the word.  Students had to include a total of 12 items on an unique web.

 Students then learned about creating textures with colored pencils.

Finally, students used the idea of looking through a keyhole to represent a world that represented them.  They had to incorporate the symbols from their web along with texture in some way. Students are still working hard on this project but here is a peek at what they have been doing.

5th Grade Klimt Inspired Animals- Ms. Annie's Class

Ms. Annie's class in 5th Grade has been busy creating animals using patterns inspired by Klimt's artwork. Students worked hard drawing their animals, adding patterns then using watercolor to finish. Great work!!

8th Grade Atmospheric Perspective

8th Grade students completed drawings using a product named vellum.  This “tracing” paper was used to help them explore and understand the concept of Atmospheric Perspective.  Students completed fantasy drawing showing: foreground, middle ground and background.  The layers of paper together created a drawing that showed atmospheric perspective.

8th Grade- Architecture unit project #1

8th Grade has been working hard finishing their first project of the architecture unit. Students had to pick a building from somewhere in the world, enlarge it using a grid then design it in the media of their choice. We are so impressed with the hard work of these 8th grade students. Here are some of their final pieces. More will be added next week. Can you guess these buildings?
