4th grade landscapes

4th Grade Illuminated Letters


Here are some Illuminated Letters in progress. Students are challenged in paintiing and drawing skills, and add detailed designs to fit each letter theme.

4th Grade self portrait

4th grade is busy using watercolor pencils to create self-portraits. They have been practicing drawing different facial features and are not putting it all together. Students also examined self-portraits done by artists like Frida Kahlo, Picasso, Roger Shimomura, Chagall and more!  We look forward to showing you their work when they are complete.

4th Grade Finished Picasso Inspired Paintings

After learning about Picasso's blue period students created their own paintings using tints and shades of blue. Students added details like strings with sharpie.  Great work Ms. Miranda's class!

4th Grade Movement Study


4th Grade was busy last week analyzing a variety of different artists and how they show movement in their art. Students then created a figure showing movement. Great work 4th Grade! This week 4th grade is studying Picassco's Blue Period.  Students will be drawing musical instruments and painting them with tints and shades of blue.

4th Grade - Painting Shapes


Students in Ms. 4th grade have been learning about geometric and organic shapes. Students in Ms. Sarah's class are busy painting their "Shape Painting". Some students have taken on the challenge of mixing colors where the shapes overlap.  Students are working hard on controlling their painting by not going outside the lines.  Keep up the good work!

Attention 4th Grade Art Students!

Please bring a picture of a music instrument to class during your class period the first week of October.  Some recommended instruments include guitars, violins, drums, etc.
