2nd Grade collage hands
2nd Grade is working on combining skills like collaging, tracing and cutting to a complex shape. Students painted a watercolor background and mounted their designs. We think they turned out great, and the kids had a great time selecting pictures that show things that inspire them!

8th Grade Self-Portrait Alter Ego Project
8th completed self portraits using a grid with watercolor pencil, conte crayon, and colored pencils then created an alter ego drawing using same process. We did have one student paint their alter ego. Students then had to decide how to merge their pictures in a creative way. We think they did a great job!

6th grade painting
Sonia Delauney, an artist who loved geometric shapes and bold color combinations and patterns, was the inspiration artist for our 6th Grade painting project. Each student designed and painted a pattern of circles and lines in a color scheme they chose. We used great care to make our edges smooth and used tints and shades to give our paintings depth. Students told us they learned so much about acrylic painting! One student commented, "This project taught me patience." So true! This class is a joy to teach. --Mrs. Paradis
