4th Grade - Painting Shapes


Students in Ms. 4th grade have been learning about geometric and organic shapes. Students in Ms. Sarah's class are busy painting their "Shape Painting". Some students have taken on the challenge of mixing colors where the shapes overlap.  Students are working hard on controlling their painting by not going outside the lines.  Keep up the good work!

6th Islamic Radial prints


Students have been studying the history and elements of Islamic art. Students then created their own printing block which had to include two elements of Islamic art.  Students did many test prints and then created these beautiful prints. We will be posting more photos as students finish printing.  Good job 6th grade!

5th Grade - Nevelson Inspired Sculptures


Students in Mrs. Annie’s class are busy designing their sculptures. Students are focusing on showing movement in their sculptures. When students are finished they will be spray painting their pieces. 8th Grade Atmospheric Perspective


8th Grade students completed drawings using a product named vellum.  This “tracing” paper was used to help them explore and understand the concept of Atmospheric Perspective.  Students completed fantasy drawing showing: foreground, middle ground and background.  The layers of paper together created a drawing that showed atmospheric perspective.

4th Grade Homework


Attention 4th Grade Art Students!

Please bring a picture of a music instrument to class during your class period the first week of October.  Some recommended instruments include guitars, violins, drums, etc.

ATTENTION 5th Grade


Attention 5th Grade!

You have homework for art class. You must bring in a picture of an animal that is greater than 5” x 7” but less than 8”x 10”.  You may bring in a photo or you can print the picture from the internet.  National Geographic magazines have great photos! Please make sure your picture shows the face of the animal.  Your picture is due during your class the week of September 30th –October 1st.  If you have any questions please talk to your art teacher.

7th Grade Zentangle Animals Finished!

7th Grade has finished their zentangle animals.  What an amazing job this group of students did on this project! They worked hard enlarging their animals using a grid. Student then created amazing patterns using sharpie and filled their patterns with watercolor, painting with great control.

8th Grade- Architecture unit project #1


8th Grade has been working hard finishing their first project of the architecture unit. Students had to pick a building from somewhere in the world, enlarge it using a grid then design it in the media of their choice. We are so impressed with the hard work of these 8th grade students. Here are some of their final pieces. More will be added next week. Can you guess these buildings?




























5th Grade- "Friendship is a Sheltering Tree"
